SECTION 3

MEMBERSHIP AND DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLICANT GROUP

(a) All of the members of the applicant group should be identified and a brief description of their background and experience given.

The shareholders of Jazz FM will be:

Mr Niall Fortune is Managing Director and 100% shareholder of Eddie Rockets Restaurants with 20 restaurants both in Ireland and abroad with a group turnover of approx £15 million.
Mr. Jack McGouran is the Programme Director of the Cork Jazz Festival, a position he has held for the past 20 years.
Mr. Oliver Dowling is a broadcaster and promoter with a deep knowledge of Jazz and related genres.
Mairead Sorensen is a Director of Butlers Irish Confectionery Ltd., and has worked in radio in America with WLRN in Miami.
Mr. Liam O'Dwyer is the CEO of Capital Bars plc, one of Irelands leading leisure companies.
Mr. Brendan Cronin is a broadcaster and writer and has been involved in radio at all levels for the past 10 years.
jazz^fm plc are a broadcasting group in the UK who are fully quoted on the London stock exchange with a market capitalisation of ST£30 million.

The group has come together over the past few months due to the inclusion in the submission for a special interest licence of Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, and Soul. These are forms of music that the applicant group are passionate about and in which they have long standing experience. Brendan Cronin couples his interest in music with a long career in radio, Jack McGouran has been organising music events such as the Cork Jazz Festival for more than 20 years. Oliver Dowling's passion for the music is undeniable and one of the many outlets for his passion is his organisation of Monday night events in The Kitchen, Dublin. All of this is coupled with the experience and resources of jazz^fm in the UK which, with its two stations, has 891,000 listeners per week (source RAJAR Q3, 2000).

Jazz FM is a limited company. The company has been in existence since April 1999 but has not traded to date.
